Concept: 3D Printer/Rapid Prototyper

The device could print out and assemble stuff like: tools and utensils, mechanical devices, electronic devices, or evern sculptures. Perhaps it could print out the BodyMetric. Check out RepRap (http://reprap.blogspot.com/) to see a research into this sort of thing. also check out the Rapid Prototyping Homepage(http://home.utah.edu/~asn8200/rapid.html) for a less-fun yet, informative page about desktop manufacturing.

The Daisy is an open source mp3 player. Although one would have to assemble it themselves as the "make anything" device doesn't exist yet, it brings us one step closer to paying only for the cost of the device. Also, it lets you actually control the music you own. In the future you should be able to load the plans for the Daisy mp3 player into a 3d printer and print out your own mp3 player!

Check out the Daisy mp3 player at Make magazine.
